The National Solidarity Party

Our Political Beliefs:
The NSP believes that there must be competition in politics. This competition for the people's support will bring about a better and more progressive society. We must not allow the PAP Government to rule Singapore without a proper balance being established. We must not give them too much power without checks inside Parliament. There must be greater accountability of Government policies, decisions and expenses at the national level. The NSP believes that power tends to corrupt, and absolute power tends to corrupts absolutely. The nature of corruption can be financial, complacency, cronyism, intolerance, or simply taking the public's support for granted. There is too much domination held in the hands of a few key persons in the PAP Government. This is unhealthy for the longer term growth and progress of a knowledge based society.
The NSP is a Political Party founded in July 1987. NSP is represented in Parliament by its Secretary General Mr Steve Chia, as the Non-Constituency Member of Parliament (NCMP) when he garnered the most percentage of votes among the Opposition losers at the 2001 General Elections in Choa Chu Kang. It is the mission of NSP to help build a strong, credible, viable, people oriented alternative political institution to challenge and compete with the PAP. We hope to restore confidence and trust back in the Opposition political movement, and together work towards the democratic growth of Singapore society. We need your understanding and support. As we try to build a strong foundation for the political alternatives with quality people, we hope you can be open to us and support our cause at the next coming General Election. Allow us to serve your interest. Remember!! Do not give the PAP too much power. Give them more of the people's pressure. Only then will they truly learn to listen to the feelings and aspirations of the people. Thank you for your time in reading and understanding our cause.
